We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fabricator to join our manufacturing client. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, preparing materials, and fabricating components to high-quality standards. This role requires strong practical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a production team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and job specifications.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and modify components using a variety of materials such as steel, aluminium, and alloys.
  • Operate workshop machinery and hand tools including saws, grinders, welders, brake presses, and cutting equipment.
  • Perform MIG welding to a high standard.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and fit materials accurately according to specifications.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure accuracy and conformance.
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet project deadlines.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised working environment.
  • Identify material shortages, equipment issues, or design concerns and escalate where necessary.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to enhance workshop efficiency and quality.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a fabrication, welding, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience working with metalwork tools and workshop machinery.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Fabrication, Welding, Engineering, or related field.
  • Forklift or overhead crane licence.
  • Experience in CNC machinery or CAD/CAM systems.
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
