We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fabricator to join our manufacturing client. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, preparing materials, and fabricating components to high-quality standards. This role requires strong practical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a production team.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and job specifications.
- Fabricate, assemble, and modify components using a variety of materials such as steel, aluminium, and alloys.
- Operate workshop machinery and hand tools including saws, grinders, welders, brake presses, and cutting equipment.
- Perform MIG welding to a high standard.
- Measure, cut, shape, and fit materials accurately according to specifications.
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure accuracy and conformance.
- Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet project deadlines.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised working environment.
- Identify material shortages, equipment issues, or design concerns and escalate where necessary.
- Support continuous improvement activities to enhance workshop efficiency and quality.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in a fabrication, welding, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Experience working with metalwork tools and workshop machinery.
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Fabrication, Welding, Engineering, or related field.
- Forklift or overhead crane licence.
- Experience in CNC machinery or CAD/CAM systems.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
