Here at Academics we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Support Specialist to join an inclusive and nurturing team at a fantastic school in Wakefield.

This is a rewarding opportunity to provide one- to -one and small groupn support for pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with identified SEN, including those with ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs.
  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies and interventions.
  • Support pupils in accessing the curriculum, developing independence, and building confidence.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school or similar setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g.,CACHE Level 3, TA qualification or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
