Bid Writer: Electrical Utilities

Our client is a major energy and utilities contractor delivering private networks schemes nationwide. They have engaged Milford RES to recruit a Technical Bid Writer to join their dynamic business development team. This role is pivotal in securing new contracts by producing compelling, accurate, and compliant bid documentation for high-value projects in the electrical utilities sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and structure technical bid responses for tenders, frameworks, and proposals.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and commercial teams to translate complex technical information into clear, persuasive content.
  • Ensure all submissions meet client requirements, compliance standards, and deadlines.
  • Conduct research on industry standards, competitors, and client expectations to strengthen bid strategies.
  • Support the continuous improvement of bid processes, templates, and knowledge libraries.

To apply for this role you must meet the following criteria:

  • Strong background in bid writing within engineering, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and present it in a clear, client-focused manner.
  • Excellent written English, with attention to detail and persuasive writing style
  • Familiarity with UK procurement processes and frameworks.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Applicants must be fully eligible to work in the UK.
  • Experience in the electrical utilities sector (transmission, distribution, renewables).
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts and UK regulatory frameworks.
  • APMP or similar bid/proposal management qualification
