We have a key component overhaul client looking for Mechanical Assembly Fitters on a on-going contract basis in Birkenhead to support ongoing and upcoming contracts.
As a Fitter, you would be working 37 hours a week, Monday to Friday day shifts on a rate of 17.28PAYE. Once passed as competent there will be options to work Shifts increasing the rate to 20.39 PAYE when worked.
As a Fitter, you will safely clean and dismantle rail equipment ensuring key parts are not damaged
Duties of a Fitterwould include:
- Overhaul, repair, assemble and test a variety of equipment, including warranty returns, refurbished and new: callipers, actuators, discs, couplers, brake controls, etc.
- Where equipment does not achieve required outputs, does not fit together, etc. to investigate, fault find and diagnose likely causes and where possible correct the fault.
- Operate monitoring, measuring and diagnostic equipment.
Requirements:
- Pneumatic understanding would be preferred but not essential.
- Ability to perform basic route cause analysis. (I.E finding faulty connectors, leaking pipes, etc.)
- Ability to understand basic mechanical drawings/specifications.
- Some form of mechanical background or experience
- Previous experience in the servicing, repair or overhaul of all types of mechanical components is beneficial
