Job Title: Corporate Accountant - Maternity Cover Contract (16-18 months)

Evolve Recruitment are seeking to recruit an experienced Corporate Accountant with stable experience to join an established, dynamic company. The role will be varied and challenging; the successful candidate will report into the Finance Director, be responsible for the delivery of accounting information within a high-performance culture. To be successful in the role you will also need a high degree of personal initiative and the ability to interact with non-financial managers and staff at all levels. You will have experience of double entry journals, IFRS and work in a highly dependent nature and in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

CORPORATE HEAD OFFICE ACCOUNTS

  • Run monthly toolkit (P&L) reviews with Head of Departments and ensure any adjustments from these meetings are processed accordingly. Update Excel-based reconciliation/support packs for all Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Complete disclosures for the Corporate Head office where necessary.
  • Identify and investigate variances against forecast, ensure missing costs are accrued where necessary.
  • Ensure Corporate Head office transactional work is completed by relevant team members. Develop and install processes, policies and controls and constantly review current processes and controls to ensure they are as efficient as possible and protect the business
  • Create good working relationships with team members and both internal finance stakeholders and the business stakeholders within the group. Contribute to the success of the overall corporate strategy

TREASURY

  • Contact for all UK and European banking items. Ensure timely application for bank accounts and support the Finance portfolios in all banking matters
  • Review internal controls and ensure appropriate controls in place around starters, leavers and existing employees
  • Contact on the UK Credit cards for all businesses. Ensure adequate controls in place over limits, cancelling of cards and issuing new cards, etc.
  • Minimise foreign transaction costs using appropriate FX tools.

STATUTORY FINANCIAL REPORTING AND AUDITING

  • Support the end to end audit process with company auditors and ensure all internal and external statutory deadlines are met. This includes the planning and review of this key project.
  • Prepare supporting disclosure schedules for the group and individual entities as required
  • Coordinating the Finance team (Divisional Finance Managers, Management Accountants, Transactional and Credit Control staff) on the work required to meet the audit deadlines
  • Liaising with the auditors on progress, issues and finding improvements to the process
  • Support for all Company Secretarial tasks of the Group, including Capital Contribution documents for all UK and Europe acquisitions, Holdbacks, NTA’s and Earnouts. Support for the year end dividend process, including associated minutes.
  • Support the Finance team on all Canada audit queries (Jan-Feb 2026), ensuring quick turnaround and review of items to improve the process year on year.
  • Lead contact / support on internal audit from Canada (2026), helping to coordinate the audits and getting the teams to deliver documentation on time. Lead any remediation action required, either within the appropriate BU or across the wider organisation.

CORPORATE

  • Responsible for processing of payroll, submission to MA’s for review and transactional reports
  • Process additional confidential payroll payments as needed.
  • Responsible for Contour postings
  • Support in the review of moth end and quarter end disclosures

PROJECT SUPPORT

  • Support the Finance Operations Manager in all project related activities, including ERP system migration.
  • Support and implement policies and procedures.
  • Support internal audits and assessments to ensure Transactional and Credit Control Departments are compliant with policies and procedures

Skills, Experience & Qualities

  • Qualified accountant / qualified by experience or studying towards a qualification
  • Commercial acumen and financial analysis skills
  • Excellent IT skills including a high level of proficiency in Excel
  • Previous experience in a consolidated audit would be an advantage
  • Experience of Microsoft Great Plains, F&O Dynamics would be an advantage.
