Proactive are currently in search of multiple skilled CNC Turner to start work immediately for a client of ours in Wallingford. This is an exciting opportunity working for a world leading manufacturing company, offing ample opportunity for career progression and development.
Role Overview
We are on the lookout for a CNC Machinist where you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating our machines to produce precision parts according to specifications. This role needs a strong understanding of machining techniques, 5 axis, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and a commitment to delivering top-quality products.
- Deputise and support the CNC Production Technical LeadSafely and efficiently operate CNC machines to produce components as per engineering drawings.
- Doosan Vertical with Nikken 4th Axis mill with Fanuc control
- Doosan Lynx 2100 LSYA lathe with Fanuc control
- Tormach 770 Vertical
- Tormach 15L Lathe
- Work with engineering on new designs and give input for design for manufacture
- To be a primary resource for programming
- Scheduling of work and allocation
- Choose appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures for each job.
- Provide inspection resource for both first article and interim checks
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and report any issues to the maintenance department.
- Troubleshooting and resolving problems during the machining process.
- Follow general organisational procedures, such as 5S
- Ensure all safety guidelines and protocols maintain a safe working environment.
- Keep on top of documentation of machine setup, tooling, and production data.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to achieve production goals and resolve technical issues.
- Give guidance to less experienced team members and educate when necessary.
Requirements:
- Experience with CNC milling and turning and CNC programming
- Knowledge of G-code and CAM software (we use Fusion 360, prior experience not essential )
- Knowledge of Solidworks would be advantageous but not essential
- Experience with quality control
- Good problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of engineering drawings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
