Job Summary
Our client, one of the UK's leading second handbook resellers are recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor to join their team. This role is suitable for someone who has experience as a Warehouse Supervisor and looking to continue their career, or someone who has worked in a warehouse environment with some leadership experience who is looking to make a step up in their career. This role requires a proactive approach to process improvement and logistics, ensuring efficient materials handling and effective team management. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment while optimising productivity.
The role is mainly Monday - Friday, day shifts, but due to the nature of the role there may be some flexibility required.
Duties
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage and lead a team of warehouse staff, providing training and support to enhance performance.
- Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely dispatch of goods.
- Utilise the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage stock movements efficiently.
- Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure that all materials handling procedures are followed, including heavy lifting protocols where applicable.
Ideal Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar supervisory role.
- Good understanding of materials handling, logistics, and shipping & receiving processes.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and AS400 software is advantageous.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
- Experience in a 3PL environment is a plus.
