About the RoleWe are working on behalf of a well-established, FCA-regulated SME in the consumer insurance space to recruit a dynamic and experienced Head of Compliance. This is a pivotal leadership role within a fast-evolving business that delivers specialist insurance products.
The organisation is undergoing significant transformation, with a strong focus on enhancing its compliance framework, data governance, and customer journey. As Head of Compliance, you will play a key role in shaping the compliance strategy, managing enterprise risk, and ensuring regulatory alignment across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of a proportionate compliance strategy.
- Oversee horizon scanning and regulatory change management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster a culture of compliance.
- Ensure effective governance and risk management frameworks are in place.
- Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Drive initiatives around data protection, cyber security, and information governance.
- Lead and develop the compliance team, ensuring high standards and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking ForWe’re seeking a confident and capable compliance professional with a strong background in financial services, ideally with experience in the insurance sector. You’ll be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree-level education or equivalent.
- Professional qualification in compliance or a related field.
- Proven experience leading a compliance function within financial services.
- Knowledge of the insurance and financial advice sectors.
- Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, risk management, and governance.
- Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
Desirable
- Experience working with regulators.
- Familiarity with corporate governance frameworks.
- Project management certification.
- Proficiency in compliance and risk management tools, Excel, and PowerPoint.
