Financial Controller - Manufacturing | £75,000-£80,000 | West Midlands | On-Site / Hybrid

We're partnering with a well-established and growing manufacturing business looking to appoint a Financial Controller who brings both hands-on expertise and a sharp commercial mindset.

This is a key hire for the company - a pivotal role that sits at the heart of day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making. Working closely with the Managing Director, you'll drive financial performance, support future growth plans, and play a crucial role in upcoming M&A activity.

The Role: This isn't a reporting-only role - it's about taking ownership, building structure, and driving value. You'll oversee the full finance function, but also act as a strategic business partner to the MD, helping shape commercial decisions and growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of the finance function: month-end, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, reporting.

  • Work closely with operational teams to improve costing, margins, and efficiency.

  • Support strategic planning and commercial analysis for new opportunities and investments.

  • Play a key role in M&A activity, including due diligence, integration, and financial modelling.

  • Ensure robust financial controls and regulatory compliance.

  • Present financial insights to senior stakeholders and the board.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong commercial acumen - comfortable analysing performance, pricing, and operational KPIs.

  • Hands-on approach with the confidence to get into the detail while contributing at board level.

  • Involvement in M&A, investment analysis or similar strategic projects is highly desirable.

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.

What You'll Get:

  • £75,000-£80,000 salary, depending on experience.

  • A visible, value-adding role with real influence over business direction.

  • Exposure to M&A and board-level strategy.

  • Flexibility around hybrid working once embedded in the business.

  • A supportive, ambitious leadership team committed to investing in talent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute finance professional who enjoys working closely with operations and wants to be more than just the numbers person.
