We’re recruiting on behalf of a regulated organisation with obligations to multiple external bodies, alongside standard governance and compliance responsibilities. To support this, we’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Regulatory and Assurance Accountant to join our Group Finance team.
This is an ideal role for a qualified accountant with a background in audit, controls, or regulatory reporting who’s looking to broaden their experience in a large, complex business. You’ll take a lead role in ensuring financial compliance, delivering regulatory reports, and strengthening the Group’s control environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesRegulatory Reporting & Compliance

Prepare and submit regular financial reports to the FCA and PRA.

Develop Board-level reporting for regulated entities and support the Risk & Audit Committee.

Work with senior stakeholders to assess the regulatory impact of business decisions.

Own the accounting and reporting for specific regulated entities.

Understand and monitor the Group’s financing arrangements and covenant compliance.

Track governance developments and evaluate financial implications for the Group.
Financial Controls & Assurance

Lead a Group-wide programme to improve financial controls, partnering with IT, Risk, and other teams.

Identify process improvements and remediate any control deficiencies.

Support external audit activity during controls testing and manage action follow-up.

Own the control monitoring and testing plan, ensuring regular updates and stakeholder engagement.

Deliver clear, insightful updates on the control environment to the Board.

Stay on top of industry best practices and recommend improvements.

Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA), ideally with 1+ years’PQE.

Experience in audit, internal controls, or regulatory compliance.

Strong technical knowledge, including IFRS.

High attention to detail with excellent organisation and time management skills.

Proactive, confident, and comfortable making decisions independently.

Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
