Health & Safety Advisor (12–18 Month Fixed-Term Contract)
Based in Walsall, West Midlands (Office & Site-Based, Monday–Friday)

Search² is delighted to be exclusively partnered with a family-run and well established manufacturing and engineering business to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor on a fixed-term contract.

What you will be doing
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining company-wide health and safety plans and policies.
  • Reviewing and facilitating procedures to establish a strong safety culture and legal compliance.
  • Conducting site inspections, risk assessments and training across manufacturing and operational areas.
  • Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions.
  • Supporting and mentoring a junior health and safety team member, helping them develop towards a management role.
  • Managing relationships with external stakeholders such as insurers, auditors, and accreditation bodies.
  • Reporting on performance, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting the continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System.
What you will need
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment as a Health & Safety Advisor / Manager.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) and strong working knowledge of H&S legislation.
  • Experience managing or supporting ISO-based systems (45001 / 9001 / 14001).
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills – able to influence colleagues at all levels.
  • Organised, pragmatic and solutions-oriented – confident working independently.
