This role involves fabricating and assembling components, primarily using sheet metal, while ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the production process.
Duties
- Fabricate and assemble metal components according to specifications and drawings.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Perform welding tasks, including stick welding, to join metal parts securely.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and resolve any issues that arise during fabrication.
- Utilise basic maths skills for measurements and calculations necessary for fabrication tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience in a fabrication role or similar position is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication techniques is advantageous.
- Experience in welding processes, particularly stick welding, is essential.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools proficiently is required.
- A solid understanding of basic maths principles as they relate to measurements and calculations in fabrication work.
