Freelance Network Occupancy Coordinator
I'm currently working with a major highways services provider supporting the National Highways Area 9 contract, and I'm looking to engage an experienced Network Occupancy Coordinator on a freelance basis to support a busy delivery and planning team.
This is a hands-on coordination role within a critical transport network covering approximately 2,300 miles of the Strategic Road Network across the West Midlands and surrounding counties. The area includes key motorway interchanges and plays a central role in UK connectivity, including works linked to the HS2 network.
The Opportunity
As a freelance Network Occupancy Coordinator, you'll support the Planning, Delivery and Network Occupancy teams by managing and coordinating all network occupancy activity. Your focus will be on ensuring bookings are accurately logged, validated, and managed to maximise delivery while remaining fully compliant with National Highways requirements.
Key Responsibilities
路Acting as Works Receiver, managing and coordinating all requests, notices and permits for network occupancy
路Managing all internal and third-party works within NOMs / street works systems
路Ensuring compliance with NOMs accuracy, including correct on/off road timings
路Reviewing, analysing and providing feedback on network occupancy requests
路Managing communications around booking confirmations, rejections and variations
路Validating bookings with National Highways prior to publication
路Supporting compliance with GM702 requirements on behalf of the client
What I'm Looking For
路Previous experience working with traffic management and/or street works (highly desirable)
路Knowledge of highways maintenance environments
路Strong planning and organisational skills
路High attention to detail and accuracy
路Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines effectively
路Confident using Microsoft Office and related systems
