Our client, a reputable player in the public sector procurement supply chain, is currently seeking a talented Procurement Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support various departments, ensuring optimal supplier agreements, cost savings, and a robust supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:- Sourcing and evaluating suppliers, assessing their products and services
- Drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts
- Predicting levels of demand for services and products
- Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers
- Developing strategies to achieve cost savings and supplier performance targets
- Ensuring procurement processes are followed and accurately recorded
- Managing and motivating the procurement team
- Working with the sustainability team to manage the supply chain in line with sustainability strategies
- Providing demonstrable cost savings throughout the business from a quality supply chain
- Challenging carriage charges and price increases, communicating these to department managers
- Supporting the sales team with tender enquiries and internal sales team with bespoke requests by obtaining the best prices from preferred suppliers
- Minimising credit card spend where possible
- Ensuring compliance with required corporate governance and approvals in all commercial and contractual aspects
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following attributes:
- Experience in fabricating and procurement management within the construction sector
- Ability to analyse data and produce reports on spending and savings
- Proficiency in negotiating contracts and agreements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with internal teams and suppliers
- Experience in managing procurement projects and processes
- Familiarity with procurement and supply chain management software
- IT literate and proficient in the Microsoft Office package
