Our client, a reputable player in the public sector procurement supply chain, is currently seeking a talented Procurement Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support various departments, ensuring optimal supplier agreements, cost savings, and a robust supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing and evaluating suppliers, assessing their products and services
  • Drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts
  • Predicting levels of demand for services and products
  • Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers
  • Developing strategies to achieve cost savings and supplier performance targets
  • Ensuring procurement processes are followed and accurately recorded
  • Managing and motivating the procurement team
  • Working with the sustainability team to manage the supply chain in line with sustainability strategies
  • Providing demonstrable cost savings throughout the business from a quality supply chain
  • Challenging carriage charges and price increases, communicating these to department managers
  • Supporting the sales team with tender enquiries and internal sales team with bespoke requests by obtaining the best prices from preferred suppliers
  • Minimising credit card spend where possible
  • Ensuring compliance with required corporate governance and approvals in all commercial and contractual aspects
Job Requirements:

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Experience in fabricating and procurement management within the construction sector
  • Ability to analyse data and produce reports on spending and savings
  • Proficiency in negotiating contracts and agreements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with internal teams and suppliers
  • Experience in managing procurement projects and processes
  • Familiarity with procurement and supply chain management software
  • IT literate and proficient in the Microsoft Office package

Desirable:

  • Product knowledge or previous experience within the hire and fabrication sectors
