This is a hands-on role involving close interaction with both the production floor and customers, so strong communication skills and the ability to work from electrical schematics and CAD layouts is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- As the Production Engineer, you will Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings to support production processes
- Act as the technical interface between engineering, production, and the customer, ensuring specifications are clearly communicated and understood
- Assist in the design, modification, and optimisation of manufacturing processes related to electrical products and assemblies
- Work with CAD software to review and adjust electrical layouts, wiring configurations, and manufacturing drawings
- Provide hands-on support during prototype builds, new product introductions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support the development of manufacturing documentation including work instructions, test procedures, and BOMs
- Identify and resolve production-related issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Previous experience in a Production Engineer role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical engineering background with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Hands-on experience supporting production or assembly teams in an electrical or electro-mechanical setting
- Proficient in the use of CAD software (such as AutoCAD Electrical or similar) for layouts and schematic interpretation
- Confident working directly with customers to understand requirements and provide technical input
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
