The provision supports young people who benefit from an alternative approach to mainstream education, offering a structured and nurturing environment with a strong focus on behaviour, engagement and personal development. The aim is to help learners re-engage with education, build confidence and progress positively.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting students with social, emotional and behavioural needs by:

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people

  • Supporting behaviour regulation and positive engagement

  • Working closely with teaching and support staff

  • Delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions

  • Acting as a consistent and positive role model

This is a rewarding, hands-on role for someone who is resilient, patient and genuinely passionate about supporting young people.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work or similar settings

  • Confident supporting behaviour and emotional needs

  • Calm, empathetic and consistent in approach

  • Committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing

Experience in analternative provision, PRU or SEMH settingis desirable but not essential.
