Payroll Officer

Contract Type: 6 Month Contract 

Full-time | Hybrid 3 days in office, 2 days from home SF Recruitment are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced temporary Payroll Offcer to support our clients payroll team during a busy period. This role is ideal for a proactive individual with strong payroll knowledge and a keen eye for accuracy. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process end-to-end payroll for employees, ensuring accurate and timely payments
  • Maintain and update employee records, including changes to pay, tax codes, and deductions
  • Handle statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, and SPP, ensuring compliance with payroll legislation
  • Assist in reconciling payroll accounts and resolving discrepancies
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and stakeholders in a professional manner
  • Support the team with payroll reporting and compliance tasks as required

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a payroll administration role within a shared service / high volume role
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, including PAYE, National Insurance, and statutory payments
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
