Job Title: Purchasing Executive
Location: Brownhills
Salary: £12.25 per hour (based on 42.5 hours – £27,072 per annum)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (42.5 hours)
Contract Type: Temporary-to-Permanent
About the Role:
Our client in Brownhills is looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Executive to join their team. In this role, you will source products, negotiate pricing, and ensure stock levels meet customer demand while maintaining strong supplier relationships. You will also play a key part in keeping customers informed about backordered items and ensuring products are delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source, negotiate, and purchase products for resale and internal use from domestic and international suppliers
- Keep customers informed on the status of backordered items, including lead times and alternative options
- Run purchasing reports to identify stock shortfalls and generate purchase orders
- Track outstanding orders and liaise with suppliers to resolve discrepancies or delays
- Handle damaged goods and manage supplier returns
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and price
- Maintain professional relationships with suppliers on a daily basis
- Monitor and adjust stock levels in line with changing demand
- Collaborate with other departments to meet customer requirements
- Accurately maintain company records and use IT systems effectively
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required
- Undertake other reasonable tasks as assigned

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation and influencing abilities at all levels
- Professional telephone manner
- Computer literate with excellent keyboard skills
- Ability to understand technical product information
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Adaptable and willing to suggest improvements to processes
- Reliable and punctual
Contract Details:
This is a temporary-to-permanent role. You will be on our payroll for the first 12 weeks, after which you will transfer to the client’s payroll as a permanent employee.
