Finance Assistant

?? Location: Walsall?? Full-Time | On-site - 1 day per week work at home | Permanent?? Reports to: Finance Manager

Are you detail-oriented with a strong foundation in transactional finance? We're looking for a Finance Assistant to join our clients growing team and support the Finance Manager with key financial operations. This role is ideal for someone with experience in finance who is ready to take the next step in a busy environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable ledgers with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor and chase outstanding debts and liaise with suppliers and customers.
  • Prepare employee expense reimbursements in line with company policy.
  • Input payroll changes (new hires, leavers, amendments).
  • Reconcile daily bank transactions and maintain petty cash records.
  • Post daily sales and cash receipts accurately.
  • Assist with month-end close including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of management reports and weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Help prepare documentation for audits and respond to financial queries.
  • Take on additional ad hoc finance projects as needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in a finance role
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial systems
  • Attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Great communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • AAT qualified or looking to start / working towards ACCA/CIMA
