- Undertake comprehensive assessments of individuals experiencing mental health issues, making informed decisions regarding their care and safety.
- Prepare and present compelling cases to Mental Health Review Tribunals (MHRT) and other relevant bodies.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues, contributing to best practice within the team.
- Act as a lead AMHP in complex and challenging cases, often involving crisis situations.
- Work effectively in collaboration with multi-agency partners (healthcare professionals, police, family members) to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.
- Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives, upholding high standards of care.
Requirements:
- Registered with Social Care England.
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience as a qualified Social Worker. Significant experience as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) is essential.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 and relevant legislation.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex cases.
