What you'll be doing:
- Leading and mentoring a talented team of 4-5 kitchen staff.
- Planning and managing rotas to ensure efficient coverage.
- Creating exciting and varied menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences.
- Ensuring all food preparation and kitchen operations adhere to the highest hygiene and safety standards.
- Playing a key role in the overall dining experience for residents.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef, ideally within a care home or similar setting.
- Essential IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) training or demonstrable knowledge is crucial for this role.
- A valid Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate or higher.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent understanding of dietary requirements and nutritional needs.
- A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on residents' lives.
- The ability to work 8 hours a day, 3 days a week, including 1-2 weekends per month, with guaranteed weekdays off.
