We are recruiting a temporary Learning Support Assistants to work at Hertford Regional College to help deliver an outstanding learner experience and be inspirational to students at theirstate-of-the-art campus in Ware, in the purpose built, Ofsted "Outstanding", Millbrook facilities.

About The Role
The Learning Support assistant will assist learners with Autism, ADHD, and those with behavioural, physical, and learning difficulties, or disabilities in accessing the curriculum and participating in the local community.
You will work with students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups under the guidance of the class tutor, helping them develop life skills, build positive friendships, enhance social skills, and promote independence, enabling them to reach their full potential.
As a Support Assistant, you must possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and patience. You will be responsible for reassuring and motivating students, maintaining a calm classroom environment, and supporting students through disruptions, changes in routine, and challenging behaviours.
You will provide constructive feedback to both tutors and students and implement learning strategies to help students access the curriculum.
Experience with communication aids, such as Makaton, Signs, and Symbols, will be beneficial. Some learners may requireassistance with personal care, medical needs, physiotherapy, and specialist equipment (training will be provided).
The progression and safeguarding of students is of the utmost importance, and you will be required to report and record information as part of the role.

About You ?
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will help learners access the college environment and support them in reaching their full potential.
You should have experience working in learning support within a further education (FE) setting or have experience of working with children/ young adults with learning difficulties whether this be your own child or someone else’s.
A strong understanding of how to adapt support based on individual learning differences and needs, ?you will empower learners to engage with the curriculum according to their support plans and also will collaborate with other Support assistants, led by the ?IL Support Team Leader as well as EHCP Coordinators, Teachers, and Transition Support Workers to identify and address any concerns related to the learners.
This role is ideal for someone who is eager to showcase their expertise, demonstrating a positive approach to work and the ability to relate to and motivate students.
