Role Overview:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students in engaging with their learning and fostering their emotional well-being. Your presence will provide stability and reassurance, helping students navigate their school day confidently. You’ll be an essential part of the classroom team, offering calm and support during emotional moments and helping create a positive, nurturing environment.

About Us:
This SEN school is based near Wareham caters for secondary age pupils with special educational needs, including ASD and SEMH. In the past three years, we’ve experienced significant growth—opening a new school, increasing our student and staff numbers, and now approaching maximum capacity of 150 students. We’re dedicated to creating an environment where every child, especially those with Autism Spectrum Condition and SEMH needs, can thrive.

We’re passionate about making every day special—supporting young people to shine, regardless of their challenges. We’re looking for highly organised, compassionate, and adaptable individuals to join our team as SEN TAs and Learning Mentors and help us continue this exciting journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in accessing learning by helping with focus, behaviour, or simply listening.
  • Provide personalized support for students with ASC and SEMH, making learning engaging and helping them feel comfortable.
  • Organise daily routines to ensure smooth classroom operations.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment where students feel safe to be themselves.
  • Work closely with teachers and staff to deliver effective support and teamwork.
