Hours are:Mon 08:15-16:45Tues 08:15-16:45Weds 08:15-16:45Thurs 08:15-17:00Fri 08:15-16:00
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a vibrant education centre in Caterham, Surrey. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with communication and social interaction difficulties, typically associated with Aspergerās Syndrome and Autism, and challenging behaviour.
Day to Day of the role:
- Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils to support their safety and enjoyment of learning.
- Promote and encourage independence and personal development in students.
- Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day-to-day running of the class.
- Respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task to ensure smooth running. This may include physical intervention, with full training provided.
- Promote pupilsā cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development, and spiritual well-being.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential).
- Experience of working in a special school environment is highly desirable.
- Team TEACH Training (desirable).
