Management Accountant

Warrington (hybrid)

£35,000 + study support

Joining a fast-growing, niche energy business based in Warrington, this role is focused on delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across the energy supply chain. As part of their continued expansion, they are seeking a commercially astute Management Accountant to support strategic decision-making through insightful financial reporting and analysis.

The Management Accountant will play a key role in providing financial insight and business partnering across departments. You will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and supporting project profitability analysis in a technically complex and fast-evolving industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary.

  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes across the business.

  • Conduct project and contract margin analysis, particularly for energy generation, supply, or efficiency projects.

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the energy industry (e.g. load factors, generation efficiency, cost per kWh).

  • Assist with the development of cost models and pricing strategies for new business initiatives.

  • Liaise with operational teams to improve financial understanding and control at all levels.

  • Prepare reports and financial presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulatory standards.

  • Support year-end audit and statutory reporting.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Part qualified (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA)

  • Strong analytical and commercial skills with the ability to interpret complex data.

  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
