Senior / Principal Acoustic Consultant - Infrastructure Projects

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Principal Acoustic Consultant to join a dynamic team working on nationally significant infrastructure projects. Responsibilities

As a Senior/Principal Acoustic Consultant, you will:

  • Lead and deliver high-quality acoustic assessments for major infrastructure projects, including Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop bespoke assessment frameworks and innovative solutions.
  • Engage with stakeholders, provide expert witness contributions, and craft compelling narratives to support successful planning outcomes.
  • Apply advanced modelling techniques and develop analytical tools to influence decision-making at the highest level.
  • Work across diverse project types, including road, rail, and airport schemes, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with regulatory standards in and around Warrington.
Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who bring a mix of technical expertise, curiosity, and collaboration. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong interest and experience in environmental acoustics.
  • Proven experience in multi-disciplinary projects, ideally including modelling, report writing, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and software such as MS Excel and Word.
  • A postgraduate degree in a science or engineering-based discipline or relevant chartership (preferred but not essential).
  • Membership in relevant professional institutions, such as the Institute of Acoustics.
Day-to-Day

Your typical day based in Warrington might include:
