Client Details

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Account Manager to join our team and manage relationships with Builders Merchants, Plumbers Merchants and wholesalers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, customer relationship management, and knowledge of the construction and building materials sector.

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, and driving sales growth through effective account management strategies. You will focus on converting enquiries to Sales to grow revenue of the business in line with company strategy.

Description

  • Customer Relationship Management:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring exceptional service and support.
    • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, builders, and retail partners.
    • Understand client needs and present solutions using the company's product portfolio.
  • Sales & Revenue Growth:

    • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within existing accounts, as well as generate new leads to expand the customer base.
    • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets by driving sales of building materials products.
    • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, operations) to ensure smooth execution of sales orders and deliveries.
  • Account Strategy & Planning:

    • Develop and execute account management plans to maximise customer retention, satisfaction, and profitability.
    • Monitor sales performance and customer feedback, addressing issues promptly to ensure continuous improvement.
    • Forecast customer demand and communicate effectively with supply chain and logistics teams to manage inventory and distribution.
  • Product Knowledge & Consultation:

    • Stay up-to-date with product offerings, market trends, and industry developments to provide expert consultation to customers.
    • Conduct regular product training and presentations to customers, helping them understand the benefits and applications of building materials.
  • Reporting & Analysis:

    • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and account performance using CRM software.
    • Prepare regular reports on sales forecasts, customer satisfaction, and market trends to share with management.

Profile

  • Experience in sales, account management, or customer service in the building materials or construction industry.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales quotas and grow accounts.
  • Driven individual with the ability to close sales
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards
