My client, a well-respected, eco-conscious Multidisciplinary Consultancy is searching for a Civil Engineer with a focus on Flood Risk and Drainage to join their growing team of engineering and design experts, in the bustling, diverse town of Warrington.

Essential Criteria:

  • A Degree or Higher Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Demonstrable experience of having worked in a design-based role, in a consultancy setting
  • Experience of having produced flood risk and drainage strategies, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) and Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs)
  • Working knowledge of the relevant Section Agreements (including S104, S106, etc.)
  • Competent in the use of InfoWorks ICM, TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, InfoDrainage, and similar software packages
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • A willingness to learn and develop technical skills through hands-on experience

It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Civil Engineer to have the following:

  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills, particularly when applied to report writing
  • Strong technical skills, and an analytical mindset

As a Civil Engineer, you will be joining a specialist team of engineers, working on a number of high-profile projects across the region. As you progress through your career, you will take on a range of different responsibilities, including the following:

  • Contributing to a number of projects, developing flood risk and drainage strategies
  • Working with the wider team to ensure project goals are delivered to the highest standard and within given timeframes and budgetary restrictions
  • Undertaking the relevant technical analysis using software packages
  • Preparing and issuing accurate technical information regarding projects, including drawings, calculations, and models
  • Liaising with a range of public and private stakeholders
  • Contributing to and carrying out site meetings and inspections
  • Developing and maintaining client and stakeholder relations
  • Contributing to projects, adhering to industry standards, designated budgets, and agreed timelines
