Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CE&I Electrical Engineer - Power & Protection to join our multidisciplinary design team supporting high-profile projects at Sellafield. In this role, you will provide specialist expertise in electrical power and protection systems and contribute to the continuous development and improvement of Sellafield's engineering standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert input into the design of electrical protection and control systems (11kV & 400V) and provide support and specialist knowledge on fault level studies and power system protection strategies.
  • Conduct and review BS EN 60909 fault level calculations  and support the design, specification, and layout of substations.
  • Create and validate ETAP electrical system models and perform system studies.
  • Contribute to the updating and optimisation of engineering standards and design best practices across the project and wider Sellafield programme.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and design partners to ensure compliance with industry and site-specific standards.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Strong working knowledge of BS EN 60909 Fault Calculations.
  • Proven experience using ETAP modelling software for electrical system analysis.
  • In-depth experience with Protection and Control Systems for 11kV and 400V networks and hands-on experience in substation design for 11kV and 400V systems.
  • Familiarity with Sellafield Design Processes and working knowledge of electrical CAD and analysis tools such as Trimble, ERACs, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory (Desired)
  • Understanding of IEC 61850 standards and power system SCADA integration (Desired)
  • Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership in a relevant discipline (Desired)
