Your new companyAre you an enthusiastic Electronics & Instrumentation Technician looking for your next challenge in a dynamic and specialist technical environment? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading science and engineering consultancy, working on innovative projects across the Space & Vacuum, Oil & Gas, Industrial, and Transport sectors. Your new roleYou will play a key role in performing electrical, electronic, and instrumentation installations, as well as test activities within a highly technical environment. Primarily working with the Space & Vacuum team, you will contribute to pioneering research, testing, and development of space mechanisms. Additionally, you will provide electrical and instrumentation support across other business areas. What you'll need to succeedThe ideal candidate will have completed an apprenticeship, hold an HNC or Diploma in electronics, or have at least two years of hands-on experience in a relevant field such as Aerospace, Defence, or Military electronics engineering.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the design, calibration, installation, maintenance, and testing of research and development instrumentation.
  • Performing in-house and external calibrations of equipment.
  • Reading and creating basic electronics designs, PCB layouts, and manufacturing custom laboratory equipment.
  • Applying knowledge of servo motors, stepper motors, encoders, force/torque transducers, charge amplifiers, thermistors, strain gauges, and other electronic measurement techniques.
  • Assembling and maintaining wiring harnesses, PCB layouts, and electronic interfacing components.
  • Working within an ISO Class 7 clean room environment while adhering to Aerospace and Quality Standards.
