We’re supporting a leading engineering organisation in their search for an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to join their team working on high-profile nuclear projects in the UK and internationally. The role

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you’ll provide technical leadership across nuclear new build projects, working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure safe, cost-effective design and delivery. You’ll be a key part of a project-based team, offering both strategic input and hands-on engineering expertise.

Hybrid Working: 3 Office Days / 2 Remote Days per Week

Your duties and responsibilities will be

  • Capture and manage system requirements (e.g. using IBM DOORS).
  • Translate project requirements into robust electrical system designs.
  • Validate designs through functional analysis, modelling, and simulation.
  • Develop and review electrical tests to verify compliance.
  • Liaise with external bodies including regulators, clients, and suppliers.
  • Ensure alignment with relevant UK and international standards and regulations.

You will have the following qualifications and experience

  • Degree or HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards CEng/IEng.
  • Background in nuclear, energy, or large-scale infrastructure preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and system integration.
  • Proficient in industry tools (e.g. MS Office, ETAP, Aveva 3D).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Must be eligible for security clearance.
