Role Overview:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will deliver and manage technical studies and projects, providing expertise from conceptual design through construction and commissioning. You will work on mechanical processes, handling systems, powder technologies, and mechanical dismantling in high-active environments and gloveboxes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver technical studies and project management for mechanical processes.

- Produce typical deliverables such as technical notes, substantiation notes, mechanical flow diagrams and flow-sheets, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical layout drawings.

- Manage hazards and malfunctions and review technical specification documentation from the supply chain.

- Conduct technical studies related to mechanical handling for both handling operations and heavy mechanical transfer systems, powder mechanical processes (transport, milling, and compaction) in high-activity environments and gloveboxes, as well as compaction and mechanical dismantling technologies.

- Engage in technical networking with internal experts to support project delivery and knowledge sharing.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline.

- 6+ years' experience in mechanical engineering, ideally in nuclear or regulated sectors.

- Experience in engineering design, technical studies, and project delivery.

- Full member or working towards chartership of a relevant professional body.

- Recognised Subject Matter Expert (SME).

- Ability to hold SC UK Security Clearance.
