We are working with a well established, reputable M&E Contractor who specialise in delivering commercial mechanical and electrical projects, as well as maintenance services, primarily for end users and the facilities management industry. The company's diverse clientele includes schools, university accommodations, public buildings, factories, warehouses, residential homes, and offices.
They are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join them on a permanent basis, based from their Warrington offices.
As an Estimator, your duties will be:
- Attending site surveys to create quotations for commercial mechanical building services equipment replacements and upgrades
- Identifying system faults and understanding a solution and then transposing this into a quotation for our client.
- Produce accurate and timely estimates within agreed timescales and monitoring quote acceptance with client.
- Receive client enquiries and maintain communication throughout the sales cycle and updating the business through the CRM.
- Analysing drawings to produce costs and additional costs
- Produce net cost tender document for the relevant project
- Discuss with clients or employer agent where necessary on tender issues and queries
- Discuss with subcontractors work involved on proposed projects
- Provide input on successful tenders when required
- Arrange handover of all relevant documentation for successful tender
- Provide comparison schedules of subcontractors and supplier costs
- Calculation of prices using Estimating software package
- Compile estimates including monitoring prices to identify compliant and non-compliant prices and source additional/ alternative prices
- Provide tracking correspondence for pricing enquiries
Key experience:
Knowledge and/or a background within the Mechanical sector is essential, including a knowledge of live HVAC systems and knowledge/experience of working within live buildings. Qualifications within Building Services are ideal, but not essential
