Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced EC&I Engineer with a background in the nuclear or defence sector to be engaged on a contract basis in Warrington with hybrid working.

Day to day, you'll be responsible for managing the delivery of engineering and technical activities, through the application of process, domain knowledge and experience across our projects.

Key duties:


  • Promote effective cooperation across Engineering and other functional teams to enhance collaboration and efficiency.

  • Interface with customers and supply chain on design issues, assisting with procurement specifications to ensure smooth operations.

  • Ensure procedures, codes, and standards are correctly identified and applied to all engineering and technical activities.

  • Contribute to Product Safety Assessment and process improvement within the operational and design lifecycle, aiming for continuous quality and efficiency improvements.

  • Provide a technical interface with internal and external stakeholders, supporting the Project Manager in planning, control, and delivery of tasks and projects.

  • Produce, review, and verify technical outputs, including calculations, analyses, technical reports, and specifications, making engineering decisions within delegated authority.



Essential experience of the Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer


  • Experience in working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams to deliver activities on a range of project types

  • Demonstrable experience in covering a variety of tasks

  • Communications skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines



Qualifications for the Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer


  • Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in relevant engineering discipline, with demonstrable experience
