My client is a rapidly growing internet retailer and stock liquidation specialist. They work with large brands to process and refurbish product returns, before reselling them for the highest achievable price, providing clients with a sustainable, market-leading solution.

My client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Furniture Grader to join the refurbishment team at the site in Golborne. As part of the warehouse team, you will play a critical role in assessing and grading furniture to ensure it meets our quality standards. This role focuses on evaluating product condition, documenting details, and preparing items for resale while working alongside a team of operatives and engineers in a dynamic warehouse environment.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of buyer expectations in online markets, and a passion for furniture and DIY.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect furniture, including upholstered, flat-pack, wooden, and fully constructed items, to assess damage and usability.
  • Assign accurate grades to each product based on grading guide, considering factors like structural integrity, appearance, and functionality.
  • Record all product details into cloud-based spreadsheets with precision and verify the accuracy of pre-existing information.
  • Ensure graded items are appropriately wrapped and packed for transport, adhering to quality and safety standards.
  • Work closely with the team to share insights and contribute to continuous improvement in grading processes.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn restoration techniques for various types of furniture, including upholstered leather and fabric, wooden, dining, and bedroom furniture.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures to meet daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety protocols and promote awareness among team members.
  • Comply with GDPR and data protection principles.
  • Proficiency in identifying damage, wear, and other quality concerns in furniture items.
  • Aptitude for self-assembly of flat-pack furniture and basic understanding of furniture construction.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools, such as drills, screwdrivers, and staplers, for assembly or minor adjustments.
  • Ability to accurately evaluate product condition and assign appropriate grades.
  • Strong focus on identifying details that could influence product resale value.
  • Excellent time management to efficiently balance grading, documentation, and packing responsibilities.
