Position: Teaching Assistant

Location: WA1 Area, Warrington
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday (30-minute lunch break)
Salary: 13.69 - 15.83 per hour

Reeson Education is working with a fantastic SEMH school in the WA1 area of Warrington to recruit a Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis.

This specialist school supports students across Key Stages 2, 3 & 4 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. They provide a nurturing, inclusive, and structured environment where students can develop academically, emotionally, and socially. The school promotes resilience, confidence, and independence, using a positive reinforcement approach to help pupils make meaningful progress.

Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide classroom support as a Teaching Assistant to students with SEMH needs
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils build confidence and progress
  • Support students in developing social and emotional skills alongside their academic learning
  • Help create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to tailor learning approaches
  • Encourage independence and responsibility in students

Requirements for the Teaching Assistant:

  • Passion for supporting SEMH students and helping them achieve their potential
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour or pupils with additional needs (desirable)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students and staff
  • Commitment to a full-time, long-term role in a supportive SEMH school
