An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to join a residential housebuilding contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the onsite team, working closely with subcontractors and external partners, and collaborating with the sales team to ensure smooth delivery of developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the development to maintain and deliver the build programme within agreed budgets and timescales.

  • Ensure the completed product meets company quality standards.

  • Take full responsibility for site staff and subcontractors, including labour-only groundworkers/contractors, ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.

  • Maintain regular liaison with head office, NHBC, and local authority representatives.

  • Oversee the timely ordering of materials to ensure the programme can be met.

  • Arrange and manage NHBC inspections as required.

  • Carry out handover inspections of properties to customers in line with customer care procedures.

  • Work with the customer care team to resolve post-handover defects quickly and effectively.

  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, progress, and continuous improvement on site.

The Ideal Candidate

Proven experience as a Site Manager on high-volume new build housing developments.

Strong knowledge of managing labour-only groundworkers and subcontractors.

Full UK driving licence.

Excellent understanding of build programmes, commercial awareness, and construction processes.

Demonstrated ability to achieve customer service targets.

Knowledge of construction codes and regulations (e.g. NHBC standards, Building Regulations).

Competence in using digital construction tools such as plot management systems.
