Working with a global leader in engineering, project and programme management within the nuclear industry, NRL are looking to recruit an Electrical Building Services Lead Engineer. The role can be based either in Birchwood Park, Warrington or Westlakes, Cumbria on a hybrid basis.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Building Services and UPS Design Lead to join our team. This role involves overseeing the design delivery of electrical building services and industrial UPS systems, ensuring quality and timely project completion. Responsibilities include technical review, team management, stakeholder interaction, status updates, document management, design presentations, and representation in meetings.

What you will need:
  • Design Delivery Expertise: Proven experience in delivering designs for electrical building services (LV Power, Cable Management, Lighting, Fire Alarms) and industrial UPS systems.
  • UPS Design Knowledge: In-depth understanding of UPS design, including protective device sizing, start-up and running load requirements, and changeover strategies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to organise and attend meetings with key stakeholders to extract and incorporate design data.
  • Plant Modifications Understanding: Knowledge of plant modifications and their impact on LV downstream systems.
  • Design Documentation: Experience with preliminary and detailed design, tender procurement specs/drawings, health and safety overlays, calculations, and phasing of works.
  • Battery Parameters Knowledge: Understanding of battery parameters, including DSEAR regulations.
  • Technical Review and Approval: Familiarity with SLP 1.02.42 for checking and approving technical deliverables.
  • Security Clearance: or be able to ascertain it
