My client is a leading engineering design consultancy seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in heavy industries such as Nuclear, Fusion, Power Generation, and Oil and Gas.
The role is permanent, with working hours from Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday from 8 am to 1 pm.
Key responsibilities include developing designs for mechanical and hydraulic assemblies, performing stress analysis, and collaborating with multi-disciplinary project teams.
Candidates should have a degree, extensive CAD experience, and familiarity with stress analysis, hydraulics, and manufacturing processes.
The position offers a competitive salary, and applicants are expected to have significant experience in mechanical design engineering.

Develop conceptual and layout designs for mechanical and hydraulic assemblies based on process definitions
Perform stress analysis and engineering calculations to validate design integrity
Collaborate within multi-disciplinary project teams across Mechanical, Structural, Hydraulic, and Materials disciplines
Support full project lifecycle, including build, commissioning, testing, and trials of new systems
Coordinate with electrical, control, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration and interface compatibility

Essential Experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer:

Highly regulated industries
Stress analysis/ Calcs/ FEA
Experienced with Hydraulics/ Pneumatics and moving mechanisms
Experience with CAD
Degree qualified
