Sonomatic are a leading NDT company specialising in the design and development of advanced automated ultrasonic inspection solutions, supporting our worldwide NDT field service division. Projects typically range from bespoke ROV/Diver deployed automated inspections, to topside remotely operated inspections. Our projects are always pushing the boundaries of inspection and robotics, whether its operating at 3000m in the sea off the shores of Brazil or dealing with the high temperatures at a refinery in the north of the UK. The position will suit an individual looking to further their career as a mechanical technician. Ideally the right candidate will have experience working with hand tools and workshop tools such as lathes and mills.

What Youll Be Doing:
  • Building mechanical tools and assemblies from start to finish.
  • Using basic hand tools and workshop equipment to make sure everything fits and works properly.
  • Following drawings and instructions to make sure builds are right the first time.
  • Get ancillary equipment and spares ready for shipping to offshore job sites.
Attributes:
  • Able to follow engineering drawings and 3D models
  • Bench fitting i.e. drilling, tapping & filing.
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Word/Outlook
  • Organised and self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
