Project Manager - Utility Connections

Overview

Join our dynamic consultancy and project team, where you'll play a pivotal role in the full project lifecycle, from initial inception to successful delivery. As a Utility Connections Consultant, you'll oversee feasibility, detailed design, and procurement stages, ensuring projects meet agreed timescales and client expectations. Working across Industrial & Commercial (I&C) and retail sectors, you'll be the main point of contact for all utility works, collaborating with clients, design teams, and statutory network operators.

Requirements:

1. In-depth understanding of gas, water, electricity, and telecom infrastructure networks.

2. Proficiency in materials, equipment, labor rates, and civil elements of utility installation schemes.

3. Familiarity with statutory network operators' processes and design requirements.

4. Knowledge of civil engineering principles, including highways infrastructure design and utility installation.

5. Understanding of Mechanical & Electrical installations beyond the meter.

6. Proficient in MS Office for detailed technical reporting.

7. Experience managing multiple projects in I&C and commercial development environments.

8. Strong prioritization and workload management skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:

From defining project scope to managing client relationships, your responsibilities will include:

- Project scoping and constraint identification.

- Preparation of utility service drawings and budget cost calculations.

- Procurement of utility connections and firm costs.

- Design coordination and risk management.

- Implementation of works within agreed timescales and costs.

- Regular reporting to clients and stakeholders.

- Attendance at project meetings and key milestones.

- Management of project documentation and performance evaluation.

- Co-ordination of 3rd parties and assistance with O&M manual production.
