HSE Manager

Warrington

Up to £60k + 15% Bonus + up to 12% pension

We are recruiting for one of the UK’s most recognisable brands, they are going through a period of continued growth and are currently investing heavily in their Warrington site and are looking to add an established HSE manager to their team.

Responsibilities & Duties – HSE Manager

  • Visible, onsite, leading the Health, Safety & Environmental function across the site, responsible for implementing H&SE management systems, responsible for the well-being of 400+people on site
  • An EHS Manager who will lead the development and implementation of the site’s Environment, Health & Safety deployment plan to deliver objectives in line with the Group Sustainability and HSE Strategy
  • Coach and mentor the teams around HSE initiatives
  • Leads BBS (Behaviour Based Safety) program
  • Develop and implement an Environmental Management System
  • Develop an effective EH&S risk management program to ensure compliance
  • Lead the investigation of accidents, Environmental and H&S incidents to identify, implement and maintain corrective actions
  • Analyse EH&S lagging and leading KPIs to identify improvement
  • Work with and support management teams, developing and championing annual safety plans, best practices, developing cohesive solutions to operational SHE challenges and championing continuous improvement and positive leadership behaviours

Essential experience and qualifications – HSE Manager

  • Safety leadership experience ideally within logistics, supply chain or general manufacturing environments.
  • Be a cultural ambassador by role modelling safety leadership, coaching and developing others to foster and achieve an ‘Excelling’ H&S culture.
  • Empower all levels of the workforce, floor to the SLT
  • Visible and approachable - ALWAYS!
  • A NEBOSH qualification, Certificate or Diploma, ideally graduate IOSH
  • Delivering an effective framework for safety program management
  • Delivering an effective framework of incident investigation, auditing, and training oversight
  • Manufacturing and factory or warehousing site experience strongly preferred
  • Certificate in Environmental Management (Assoc Member IEMA) preferred
  • Good working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
  • Diploma in Environmental Management is desirable
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar working environment and/or position
  • Proven track record in developing and executing SHE programs and initiatives
