Senior Quantity Surveyor - Housing Groundworks

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of groundworks projects for major housebuilders. You will play a key role in ensuring cost control, contract compliance, and financial performance, working closely with operational teams, clients, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the commercial management of multiple housing groundworks projects.
Prepare, review, and manage cost estimates, budgets, and valuations.
Handle subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and contract management.
Conduct regular cost analysis and reporting, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
Assess and manage risk, resolving any contractual disputes.
Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure projects are delivered on budget and on time.
Prepare and submit applications for payment, variations, and final accounts.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the housing groundworks or civil engineering sector.
Strong understanding of groundwork packages, including roads, drainage, and infrastructure works.
Excellent knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Relevant degree (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering) or equivalent qualification.
Full UK driving license.
