Senior Quantity Surveyor - Housing Groundworks

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of groundworks projects for major housebuilders. You will play a key role in ensuring cost control, contract compliance, and financial performance, working closely with operational teams, clients, and stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the commercial management of multiple housing groundworks projects.
  • Prepare, review, and manage cost estimates, budgets, and valuations.
  • Handle subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Conduct regular cost analysis and reporting, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Assess and manage risk, resolving any contractual disputes.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure projects are delivered on budget and on time.
  • Prepare and submit applications for payment, variations, and final accounts.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in the housing groundworks or civil engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of groundwork packages, including roads, drainage, and infrastructure works.
  • Excellent knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant degree (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering) or equivalent qualification.
  • Full UK driving license.
