Job Role: Financial Analyst

Location: Warwick (Hybrid - 2 days per week on-site)

Contract Length: 6 months (potential to extend)

Day Rate: £400 per day inside IR35 via Umbrella

About the Role

This role supports the Fixed Asset and Investment Accounting team in clearing a backlog of Fixed Asset Commissioning (FACC) entries ahead of a new ERP system implementation. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, delivery teams, and commercial accountants to ensure accurate and timely asset commissioning and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate recording of fixed assets through various processes, including commissioning, disposal, and amendments.
  • Support the monthly settlement process to guarantee correct investment records in SAP S/4 HANA.
  • Process adjustment journals for data cleansing related to fixed assets and associated projects.
  • Collaborate with the Fixed Asset Accountant to prepare balance sheet reconciliations, understanding variances between general ledger and sub-ledger.
  • Provide forecasts for depreciation and amortization of assets and projects.
  • Assist in monthly project reviews to ensure appropriate action on fixed asset adjustments.
  • Contribute to the implementation of a new Finance ERP system, ensuring effective controls and conducting tests.
  • Prepare comprehensive management reports with detailed analysis and insights on fixed asset and capital expenditure.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in fixed asset or investment accounting
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Proficiency in Excel and ability to link files to SAP
  • Ability to work independently and manage high volumes of data
  • Proficiency in SAP S/4 HANA and Blackline is preferred, along with a solid understanding of governance and internal control frameworks.
  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or actively studying
  • Experience in the utilities sector or project-heavy environments
  • Familiarity with asset register processes and project accounting
