Vehicle – Systems Integration Engineer
Rate: £35-£40 per hour (6 month contract)
Location: Lighthorne, Warwick
We are looking for a Vehicle Systems Integration Engineer to join our Team.
The Candidate must have direct automotive industry experience and understanding of automotive processes. We are looking for a hands-on engineer who will embrace the company’s cultural & professional business environment and will work directly with our customers and with the suppliers. The vehicle system integration engineer will be involved to support build and commissioning of vehicles / lab-cars and to identify, manage and resolve quality/warranty issues in ongoing vehicle programs.
The responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to:
Oversee the build of development vehicles and lab-cars.
Plan vehicle / lab-car commissioning bring up sequence.
Support the commissioning of all vehicle systems as they are sequentially brought up during a commissioning program.
Knowledge of typical vehicle control systems and an understanding of their internal operation.
Analysis of quality & warranty data from various sources such as Analytical Warranty System (AWS), Durability testing, customer feedback and dealer communications.
Perform root cause analysis, including testing where required, to identify cause & resolutions for field issues, and to validate the effectiveness of corrective actions
Work with component/system owners, suppliers, manufacturing teams to implement corrective actions for identified issues.
Manage implementation of software and hardware changes to provide new function implementation and to improve product build efficiency.

- Strong hands on, “can do” EE engineering skills.
- Ability to learn fast and to quickly pick up new skills and engineering concepts.
- Ability to effectively operate and communicate in a multi-cultural environment.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate clearly with those for whom English is not a first language.
- Ability to report to senior management and report accurate information in a clear and concise manner
- Technical attributes
- Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive EE systems / component engineering, development & testing.
- Background in electrical design and / or software implementation
- Direct experience of vehicle system integration in an OEM/Tier 1 environment
- Able to commission and test system architecture, manage feature implementation with Electrical Architect and Suppliers
- Able to test and validate the system features on various platform such as rigs, lab-car, vehicle.
- Able to create support the development and execution of vehicle DVPs
- Highly familiar with Vector Canoe / Canalyser; Analysis of A2B, CAN, LIN, Ethernet, LVDS communication busses.
- Fully familiar with typical vehicle power distribution topologies, with an ability to test and debug power supply related issues.
- Familiar with HV working procedures, preferably with accreditation in the operation of HV component maintenance procedures.
- Familiar with software downloading processes.
- Ensure effective communication, containment and action plans with regards to quality related issues.
- Support that effective root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions are implemented for quality issues.
- Good working knowledge of all low-voltage electrical systems within a vehicle platform.
