What will the Accountant role involve?
- Preparation and submission of accounts and tax returns for a varied client base including Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Limited Companies.
- Regular communication with clients via phone, email, and in person, including record chasing and information gathering.
- Client onboarding and data entry into internal systems and CRM platforms.
- Handling of bookkeeping tasks, VAT returns, and CIS submissions.
- Acting as a liaison with HMRC to resolve client issues and queries.
- Contribution to the smooth day-to-day operations of the office.
- Management of professional development and relevant CPD activities.
- Ensuring statutory records are accurately maintained with HMRC and Companies House.
- Participation in year-end meetings with clients.
- Delivery of internal and client-facing training sessions, particularly around bookkeeping practices.
Suitable Candidate for the Accountant vacancy:
- Previous experience in an accountancy practice managing a varied caseload.
- Comfortable preparing accounts and tax returns for a range of business types.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- A formal qualification is not essential, but candidates will need the relevant experience within a similar capacity.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about contributing to a supportive and professional work environment.
