Are you a detail-driven professional with a passion for design coordination in industrial builds? We're looking for an Assistant Design Manager to join a leading contractor delivering high-spec steel frame warehouse projects across the UK.
About the Role
As an Assistant Design Manager, you'll support the Design Manager in coordinating design information between consultants, subcontractors, and the site team. You'll play a key role in ensuring that design solutions are practical, buildable, and aligned with project timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities for an Assistant Design Manager
- Assist in managing design deliverables and schedules
- Liaise with architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Review drawings and specifications for compliance and build ability
- Support value engineering and design optimisation
- Ensure design information is issued and understood on site
- Maintain design documentation and trackers
Requirements for an Assistant Design Manager
- Experience in industrial or commercial construction design
- Understanding of steel frame structures and warehouse layouts
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Relevant construction/design qualifications
