Prospero Teaching is looking for compassionate, proactive, and inspiring Mentors to support children and young people in Waterlooville who may be facing challenges in their personal development.
This is a chance to be a positive adult role model and help young people build confidence, self-esteem, and essential life skills they may not have had the opportunity to develop.
Location: Waterlooville and nearby areasHours: 2-15 hours per week per childAge Range: 4 years old to post-16 (majority are secondary age)
As a Mentor, you will:- Build confidence and self-esteem
- Teach life skills and promote independence
- Support mental health through activities like walking, cooking, playing games, and exploring interests
- Help young people navigate the world with resilience and positivity
You'll be working 1:1 with young people, tailoring sessions to their individual needs and interests, and helping them grow into well-rounded individuals.
About you:We welcome applications from individuals with experience in:
- Youth Work
- Children's Support Work
- Counselling
- Foster Care
- 1:1 Mentoring or similar roles

- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
- Trauma-informed and skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- Desirable

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
