Learning Support Assistant - Waterlooville

Prospero Teaching is working closely with a welcoming primary school based in Waterlooville, who are looking to appoint a Level 1 or 2 Learning Support Assistant to join their team. This is a class-based role in Lower Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4).

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work closely with the class teacher to support pupils throughout the school day-helping them feel confident, safe, and ready to learn.

• Provide one-to-one support to help pupils with learning and social skills

• Encourage positive behaviour and help children build friendships

• Support emotional wellbeing and help remove barriers to learning

• Work flexibly across different classes and follow a daily timetable

• Use initiative to ensure all learners achieve the best outcomes

• Someone patient, caring, and a strong team player

• GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths (grade C or level 4)

• Experience is helpful but not essential-training and support will be provided

• Calm and positive approach to supporting children with a range of needs

• Empathetic understanding of behaviour and emotional development

• Willingness to undergo training, including support for children with medical needs

• Strong understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality

• Working Hours: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday

• Term-Time Only: 39 weeks per year

• Starting Pay: 13.96 per hour

• Location: Prospero's client primary school based in Waterlooville

• Contract Type: Ongoing position (not fixed term)
